In the vast landscape of Bollywood cinema, originality is a precious gem. Sadly, “Kaisi Ye Dor” fails to unearth anything new, offering a predictable family drama that feels like we’ve seen it all before. While it might not be a terrible movie, it certainly isn’t a must-watch either.
Story
“Kaisi Ye Dor” follows the well-trodden path of an arranged marriage. Abhi (Nikhil Pandey), a young man with a modern outlook, finds himself pressured by his family to marry Vidya (Ratna Neelam Pandey), a traditional and well-educated girl from a small town. As expected, their personalities clash, and Abhi struggles to connect with his seemingly incompatible wife.

Review
“Kaisi Ye Dor” relies heavily on clichés. The predictable plot unfolds at a slow pace, and the shaky camerawork and abrupt jump cuts don’t exactly enhance the viewing experience. The performances are decent, but the characters lack depth, making it difficult to connect with their struggles. The soundtrack is equally forgettable, failing to add any emotional resonance to the story.
There is a glimmer of hope, however. The film attempts to highlight the commendable support some families provide to their daughters-in-law who aspire to pursue their dreams. This progressive message, while overshadowed by the film’s shortcomings, deserves a nod.
Verdict
“Kaisi Ye Dor” might hold some appeal for those who enjoy classic family dramas. However, for viewers seeking a fresh and engaging cinematic experience, this film is unlikely to leave a lasting impression. There are far richer and more captivating stories out there waiting to be discovered.
