Have you ever started a movie hyped for a thrilling whodunnit experience, only to be left with disappointment and unanswered questions? That’s exactly how I felt after watching “Gin Ke Dus” (Ten Glasses). Packed with murders, the film fails to deliver any suspense or decent scares.

Movie Story
The story unfolds on an election day in 1991. We open with a double murder, followed by two men desperately trying to bury the bodies. As the body count climbs to three (with one being an unfortunate hostage), the narrative throws us into a deep forest and an isolated house. Three friends, one with a keen eye for detective work, arrive at the house on a mission – to save their friend Shyali’s (Trishana Goswami) sister from an abusive marriage.

Things take a sharp turn when they mistake the house help, Raju (Zahid Khan), for the abusive husband. What follows is a convoluted attempt to unravel the identity of the killer and their motive for the murderous rampage.

Review
While the film manages to keep the killer’s identity a secret until the very end, the journey there is an agonizingly slow one. The story itself, along with the screenplay and direction by Sareesh Sudhakaran, lacks depth and intrigue. Despite its classification as a crime drama and psychological thriller, “Gin Ke Dus” fails to evoke any genuine thrills or fear. Even the big reveal of the killer’s identity and motive is an underwhelming one. Some deaths seem to be present solely to fulfill the title’s promise of ten victims.

The acting department doesn’t fare much better either. Only Sanjana Deshmukh and Anika Arya manage to deliver somewhat passable performances. Trishana Goswami, with a potentially impactful role, fails to capitalize on it. The rest of the cast, including Avinash Gupta, Zahid Khan, and Himanshu Shekhar, leave little to remember.

Verdict
If you’re looking for a whodunnit experience that will keep you on the edge of your seat, “Gin Ke Dus” is a definite miss. The weak story, underwhelming plot, and forgettable performances fail to deliver on any front. While the cinematography and background music are slightly salvageable, they can’t save the overall experience.
